Self Publishing

Self-publishing remains a tricky subject for new and tested authors. Many advocates of self-publishing look at traditional publishing as elitist and abusive of authors.

Self-publishing, on the other hand, is at the forefront of digital innovation, offers unlimited freedom and control, and pays better (at least, on a per-book basis).

Self-publishing is the best way to start a writing career, regardless of what kind of writer you are or what kinds of books you write.

Some people in traditional publishing still look at self-published books as the work of writers who can't make it otherwise. This misses the point: Writers now have options. Where once it was traditional publishing or nothing, now there are multiple paths to publication and success.

Today, you have control.

Also, self-publishing is easy, and Amazon and other sites offer extensive, affordable services for editing and designing your e-book. What's best for you depends on your needs and goals. Many experts are becoming hybrid authors, self-publishing some books and traditionally publishing others.

If you are considering self-publishing here are some tips

Understand your options. Make sure that you have a solid basic knowledge of the advantages and disadvantages of both self-publishing and traditional publishing. Unless you are familiar with the whole range of options available to you, you can’t truly make an informed decision.

What kind of book are you writing? For genre fiction, self-publishing may really pay off. For entrepreneurs and experts in business, traditional or co-publishing is a more valid choice, because it offers retail distribution.

Self-publishing is a lot of work. Self-publishers must not only do everything an author does, they must do everything a publisher does. For authors who like being their own bosses, that may be ideal. For those who aren’t comfortable with the idea of running their own businesses, traditional publishing may be a better option. We offer editing and marketing to our authors.

Editing. You may think you don't need editing, so why not do it yourself? Every writer needs an editor. If you want your self-published book to stand out in an extremely competitive market, hiring a competent editor is one of the best investments you can make. We make sure that your message is crafted in a way that it reaches your ideal audience – and beyond.

Self-publishing is an option and a choice. Like traditional publishing, it isn’t right for everyone. The publishing model you choose should depend on your abilities, your goals, and your writing, not on someone else’s word for what’s “right” or “best”. There’s only what’s right or best for you.

Co-Publishing?

It's possibly the only opportunity you have to see your book on a "Best Seller"list. The truth is, most traditional publishers see too much risk in committing their resources to marketing a new author.

Self-publishing is an option but does not meet the distribution requirements for best seller status.

Co-publishing combined with a proven marketing system is the easiest way to get where you want to be.
